Again a Julia Roberts amazed me with her unforgettable humor and her world famous 'Pretty Woman' smile. I didn't expect much before watching MBFW but it was so smart that dumbed me easily. (^$^) . Now I can see why it is considered as one of best classics and comedies of 90's. The movie speaks the story of Julianne Potter (J.Roberts) who is a New York food critic, got a marriage invitation call from her long time friend Michael O'Neal (Dermot Mulroney). She was shocked and surprised and was enough late to realize that she had loved him since those days when they were together long days ago. She just ran to him intending to break the marriage being inspired by George (Rupert Everett), her editor and closest friend after Michael. There She met Kimberley Wallace (Cameron Diaz), the bride who requested her to be the bride of honour and she accepted that to get an opportunity. She played lots of awful tricks and tried to make Michael envious by showing George as her fiancée soon to marry. She successfully messed up everything when Michael called Kim and broke the marriage. But Kim couldn't tell to her parents and the marriage was as organised as it was to be. So she came back in Michael's request and mediated the conversation between him and Kim as they wanted to know if they still loved each other. They did still. In the meantime George convinced Julianne not to break the marriage but to tell George the truth that she loved him.. She realized her fault and did it too but Kim saw her to kiss Michael when Julianne told it to him. Kim easily misunderstood her and fled crying. Michael chased her and Julianne chased Michael in a carriage truck. This was seriously funny. At last Kim was caught by Julianne and fiercely scolded Julianne who confessed her guilt and managed to make her understood that Michael had chosen her over herself. Their cat-fight ended in smiling and embracing each other in joy. Then the marriage took place. Julianne wasn't alone. You can see her dancing happily with George at the dinner party at the end of the movie.
What can I say about the acting? It was Julia all alone catching the total attention of the viewer. Cameron Diaz did a good job as she could arouse the sympathy of the audience for Kim, she justified her character properly I think. I am damned untill I tell you about the brilliant acting of Rupert Everett as George. He enhanced the humor by a great margin made us laugh many times as well as he portrayed also the wiseness of George fantastically. Dermot Mulroney was rightly casted to make Michael believable.
Hope you would like the movie.
